<aside> đź’ˇ Welcome to YMA Painterly! This is a general overview of how to use YMA Painterly to your advantage along with some details for all materials to work with your models.

YMA Color Node System

Because each material can have many different nodes and connections, to simplify things we have added notes along with what we call the YMA Color Node System. All nodes are color coded and organized/grouped together for ease of use/understanding.

Lighting

Higher intensity on lights are recommended. Try to use color in your lights as well, almost as if painting with lights. Don’t be afraid to increase saturation in your HDRI as well!!

In your Camera Imager or in Compositing play with higher saturation because higher saturation will feel more like paint!

  1. Open Node Editor
  2. Add Color Correct Nodes
  3. Add UVW Node at the end

UVs

ALL 3D models should have some basic UVs. Materials will look incorrect or stretched without proper UVs. Textures will be warped and/or not “stick” to deforming geometry.
